A prestigious 5-star hotel in Cape Town is seeking a talented and driven Sous Chef to join their world-class kitchen brigade. The ideal candidate must have a strong fine dining background and luxury hospitality experience, with a passion for innovation and culinary excellence.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Executive Chef in managing day-to-day kitchen operations

Ensure all dishes meet 5-star quality, presentation, and temperature standards

Collaborate with the F&B team to exceed guest expectations

Write and update daily menus and ensure all food is tasted for quality

Manage kitchen and villa service standards, ensuring seamless guest experiences

Lead and mentor junior chefs, maintaining a professional and productive kitchen environment

Oversee villa catering preparations, guest preferences, and personalised service

Monitor stock levels, manage supplier relationships, and conduct monthly stock takes

Control costs, minimise wastage, and uphold hygiene and safety standards
Requirements:

Culinary qualification (preferred)

Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Sous Chef in a 5-star hotel or fine dining restaurant

Highly creative and quality-driven with strong attention to detail

Excellent communication and leadership skills

Experience in both à la carte and banquet-style service

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure luxury environment
