Career Growth Hospitality Recruitment are looking for an experienced Senior Sous Chef to join a prestigious luxury hospitality property in the heart of Stellenbosch.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and hands-on culinary professional who thrives in a high-end kitchen environment. Working closely with the Executive Chef, you will play a key role in leading the kitchen brigade, maintaining exceptional food standards, and creating memorable dining experiences for guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Executive Chef in the day-to-day management of the kitchen
- Lead, motivate and develop the kitchen team
- Ensure exceptional food quality, consistency and presentation
- Assist with menu planning, recipe development and seasonal offerings
- Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards
- Manage stock control, ordering and minimise food waste
- Monitor kitchen costs while maintaining quality standards
- Ensure smooth service during busy meal periods
- Assist with training and mentoring junior chefs
- Step into the Executive Chef's role when required
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Senior Sous Chef or strong Sous Chef within a luxury hotel, estate or fine dining restaurant
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- Passion for delivering exceptional food and guest experiences
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Good knowledge of food costing, stock control and kitchen administration
- Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Calm and professional under pressure
- A positive attitude with a hands-on approach
