Career Growth Hospitality Recruitment is looking for an experienced Senior Sous Chef to join a respected luxury hospitality property in the Cape Winelands.
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented chef who enjoys leading a busy kitchen, mentoring a brigade, and delivering exceptional food and guest experiences. Working closely with the Executive Chef, you will play a key role in maintaining the highest culinary standards while ensuring smooth day-to-day kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Executive Chef with the daily management of the kitchen.
- Lead, motivate and develop the kitchen brigade.
- Ensure exceptional food quality, consistency and presentation.
- Assist with menu planning, recipe development and seasonal menu changes.
- Manage stock control, ordering and supplier relationships.
- Monitor food costs, wastage and kitchen efficiency.
- Ensure all food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards are maintained.
- Assist with staff training, scheduling and performance management.
- Maintain a calm, organised approach during busy service periods.
- Work closely with Front of House to ensure an outstanding guest experience.
Requirements
- Formal Culinary Qualification.
- Previous experience as a Senior Sous Chef or experienced Sous Chef within a luxury hotel, lodge or fine dining restaurant.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of food costing, stock control and kitchen administration.
- Passion for producing exceptional cuisine.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Own reliable transport will be advantageous.
