A prestigious luxury hotel along the scenic Garden Route is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee its world-class dining operations. This role requires a hands-on leader with a passion for hospitality, exceptional service standards, and the ability to drive a seamless guest experience while managing a high-performing team.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service and guest satisfaction.
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of service professionals to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and service in line with luxury hospitality expectations.
- Manage reservations, table allocations, and guest preferences to ensure seamless dining experiences.
- Monitor and control costs, budgets, and stock levels while optimizing profitability.
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and hygiene regulations in accordance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and bar teams to curate menus, wine pairings, and special dining events.
- Handle guest feedback and resolve any service-related issues with professionalism and efficiency.
- Ensure smooth coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
- Stay updated with the latest hospitality trends to continuously enhance service delivery.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager in a luxury hotel or fine-dining establishment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent guest relations and communication abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of food & beverage operations, stock control, and cost management.
- Proficiency in restaurant management systems (e.g., Micros, GAAP, Opera PMS, OpenTable).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- A strong understanding of wine pairings and fine dining service standards is advantageous.
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Management, or a related field.
- Certification in wine studies or sommelier training is a plus.
