The purpose of the position is to correspond with local and international guests at the property and to balance the daily revenue report.
Minimum Experience and Qualification Required:
- Grade 12
- Post matric hotel school qualification would be advantageous
- 1-2 years’ experience in a five-star property with night auditing experience
- Computer literacy
- Excellent communication skills
- Good numeracy skills
- High level of English proficiency
- Must be motivated, enthusiastic, and energetic.
- Must be a team player, with a positive attitude.
- Must be willing to work shifts.
- Must be able to work under pressure.
- Own transport preferable
Key Performance Objectives:
- Handle email requests in a professional and effective manner
- Handle guest inquiries in a professional and effective manner
- Ensure knowledge of hotel room categories and layout of the property
- Ensure knowledge of different offerings at the property
- Resolution of customer complaints
- Take ownership of all issues encountered during the night shift
- Management of guest accounts
- Pit checks to be done on each shift daily
- Balance daily revenue reports
- Ensure that all reports get distributed to different department heads daily
- Operate the hotel’s Property Management System: Opera Cloud
- Check guest in upon arrival and check them out upon departure
- Ability to room guest upon arrival
- Operate the switchboard and direct calls
- Restaurant bookings and hotel reservations
- Liaise effectively between departments
- Going the extra mile to ensure guest satisfaction
- Going the extra mile to assist members of the team and other departments
- Maintaining good relationships with team members and departments
