An exceptional luxury wine estate in Stellenbosch is seeking a professional, polished and welcoming Receptionist / Switchboard Operator to join its team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and takes pride in delivering warm, efficient service. As one of the first points of contact for the estate, you will play an important role in creating a positive impression for guests, clients and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer and manage incoming calls in a professional and friendly manner
- Transfer calls accurately and take clear, detailed messages
- Welcome and assist guests, visitors, clients and suppliers
- Respond to general enquiries and direct guests to the correct department
- Manage reception and switchboard communications efficiently
- Receive and distribute messages, deliveries and correspondence
- Provide general administrative support when required
- Maintain a neat, organised and professional reception area
- Work closely with different departments across the estate
- Handle guest information and enquiries with discretion and confidentiality
- Consistently uphold the service standards and professional image of a luxury hospitality environment
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Receptionist, Switchboard Operator, Front Office Assistant or in a similar customer-facing role
- Experience within hospitality, a luxury environment or a professional corporate setting would be advantageous
- Excellent telephone manner and strong verbal communication skills
- Professional presentation and a warm, welcoming personality
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Confident using Microsoft Office, email and general office systems
- Able to manage multiple calls and requests calmly and efficiently
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Reliable, punctual and able to work well as part of a team
- Fluent in English; additional languages would be advantageous
- Reliable transport to and from Stellenbosch
