Career Growth is seeking a meticulous and experienced Payroll Officer to join a high-end hospitality team in Franschhoek.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution, compliance with statutory requirements, and providing payroll-related support to HR and Finance departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process monthly payroll for all employees, including casual and permanent staff.
- Ensure compliance with relevant payroll legislation, SARS regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain and update payroll records, employee files, and leave records accurately.
- Handle employee payroll queries in a professional and timely manner.
- Prepare monthly payroll reconciliations and payroll-related journal entries.
- Process statutory payments and submissions (UIF, PAYE, SDL).
- Liaise with Finance on payroll cost allocations and reporting.
- Collaborate with HR on new hires, terminations, benefits, and salary adjustments.
- Generate payslips, IRP5s, and other payroll-related documents.
- Support annual audits by providing payroll data and documentation as required.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in payroll administration, preferably within the hospitality sector.
- Proficient in payroll systems (Sage, VIP, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Solid understanding of payroll legislation and South African labour laws.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Discreet with sensitive employee information and data.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Diploma or certificate in Payroll, Human Resources, Finance, or related field.
- Experience working in a hospitality or lodge environment will be an advantage.
