Career Growth Hospitality Recruitment is searching for a creative and skilled Pastry Chef de Partie to join the pastry team of a leading Cape Town-based hospitality venue. Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily pastry production within your section

Support the Executive and Sous Pastry Chefs in kitchen leadership and team coordination

Maintain high standards for pastry quality, presentation, and consistency

Supervise, guide, and coach junior pastry staff

Monitor ingredient usage, manage stock levels, and minimise waste
-
Uphold hygiene, food safety, and quality assurance protocols
-
Participate in daily briefings and planning sessions
-
Create production schedules and manage prep according to service needs
-
Ensure all products align with standardised recipes and portion control
-
Stay up to date with new trends and contribute ideas for seasonal menus and improvements

Conduct training and assist in onboarding new staff when required
Requirements:

Recognised culinary or pastry qualification

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a pastry-focused Chef de Partie role

Deep understanding of baking techniques, flavour pairings, and dessert plating

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

High attention to detail and a commitment to excellence

Good stock control and cost awareness
-
Professional, well-groomed, and organised
-
Able to work calmly under pressure in a busy environment

Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays

Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Fluent in English (additional languages an advantage)
