Lodge Manager & Field Guide Couple – Marakele National Park, Marataba
Career Growth Hospitality Recruitment is seeking an experienced hospitality couple to lead guest experiences at an exclusive, off-the-beaten-track lodge.
Lodge Manager
Responsible for overseeing all guest services and lodge operations to deliver exceptional, personalised stays. This hands-on role involves:
- Guest Experience: Engage with guests daily, manage feedback, handle VIP requests, and ensure activities run smoothly.
- Operations: Oversee all departments, maintain service standards, and ensure lodge presentation meets 5-star expectations.
- Leadership: Mentor and develop the guest services team, fostering a collaborative culture.
- Finance & Stock: Control costs, manage stock, and maintain supplier relations.
- Compliance: Uphold safety, hygiene, and sustainability standards; ensure HR compliance.
- Reporting: Provide feedback and performance reports to the General Manager.
Requirements:
3–5 years in senior lodge management or guest services (5-star environment), proven leadership and guest service excellence, valid driver’s license, own transport, and computer literacy.
Field Guide
Delivers world-class guiding, ecological interpretation, and tailored safari experiences. Responsibilities include:
- Guiding game drives, bush walks, and family safaris in line with FGASA and lodge standards.
- Hosting guests, ensuring safety, and maintaining equipment and vehicles.
- Contributing to lodge social media with relevant wildlife content.
- Assisting in emergencies (medical, fire, flood).
Requirements:
FGASA Nature Site Guide (NQF4) & Trails Guide, ARH, Rifle Proficiency, First Aid Level 1, Driver’s License & Pr-DP, luxury lodge guiding experience.
Couple Requirements:
- 5-star safari lodge experience with shared passion for hospitality and nature.
- Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, problem-solving, and guest focus.
- Professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to service excellence.
- Both must hold valid driver’s licenses and required certifications.
