We are on the look for a highly experienced Groups & Events Manager to join a prestigious 5-star hotel in the heart of Cape Town. This role requires a hospitality professional with exceptional event planning, coordination, and sales expertise to manage high-profile conferences, corporate events, and luxury group bookings. The successful candidate will ensure seamless event execution, outstanding guest experiences, and revenue growth.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of group bookings, conferences, and private events, from initial inquiry to execution.
- Build strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and travel agencies to drive business.
- Handle all event logistics, venue setup, catering coordination, and supplier management.
- Work closely with sales, marketing, and F&B teams to maximize event and group revenue.
- Conduct site inspections and presentations for prospective clients.
- Develop and implement strategic sales initiatives to attract new group and event bookings.
- Ensure contract negotiation, pricing structures, and payment processes align with hotel policies.
- Maintain high levels of guest satisfaction and personalized service for VIP clients.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and reporting on group and event performance.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and luxury service standards.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Groups & Events Manager, Events Coordinator, or similar role in a 5-star hotel.
- Strong sales, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
- Proven ability to handle multiple events and group bookings simultaneously.
- Knowledge of event operations, catering, and luxury guest services.
- Proficiency in event management software and hotel booking systems (Opera, Delphi, or similar).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings when required.
