Career Growth Hospitality Recruitment is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical General Accounts Assistant to join a leading hospitality organisation.
This opportunity is ideal for an organised finance professional who enjoys working with figures, reconciliations, and financial administration. You will play an important role in supporting the finance department and ensuring the accurate processing of financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily cashbook capturing and maintenance
- Weekly cashbook reconciliations
- Process and balance daily cash-ups
- Capture cash-up information on accounting systems
- Investigate and resolve cash-up discrepancies and queries
- Manage petty cash, floats, and reimbursement reconciliations
- Assist with bank-related queries and refund investigations
- Prepare daily deposit and transaction reports
- Calculate and process staff tips payments
- Assist with filing and general finance administration
- Support the Finance team with ad hoc accounting duties
Requirements:
- Grade 12 qualification (tertiary qualification advantageous)
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role
- Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Team player with a positive and proactive attitude
- Willingness to work overtime when required
