An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Executive Housekeeper to join a prestigious luxury hotel in Cape Town. Reporting to the Director of Housekeeping, you will support the smooth running of the department while maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation, guest service and team performance.
This role would suit a confident and hands-on housekeeping professional who enjoys leading a team, maintaining high standards and creating memorable guest experiences within a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of Room Attendants, House Attendants, Public Area Cleaners, Floor Supervisors and Assistant Executive Housekeepers.
- Prepare and distribute daily room assignments and allocate work sections to the housekeeping team.
- Oversee daily housekeeping operations and ensure all guest rooms and public areas meet the required luxury standards.
- Review daily arrival lists and ensure the team is fully briefed on arrivals, special requests and room requirements.
- Conduct daily departmental briefings and communicate operational priorities clearly.
- Investigate guest concerns relating to housekeeping services or equipment.
- Record and report service-related issues through the appropriate channels and ensure they are followed up and resolved.
- Ensure team members comply with established health, safety, hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Coordinate maintenance requirements with the Technical Services team to ensure rooms and public areas remain well maintained.
- Monitor and maintain the correct stock levels of linen, guest supplies and cleaning materials.
- Develop and improve departmental systems and procedures to increase operational quality and efficiency.
- Support, coach and motivate the housekeeping team to deliver consistently excellent service.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an Executive Housekeeper or similar senior housekeeping management role.
- Experience gained within a luxury hotel or high-standard hospitality environment would be highly advantageous.
- Strong leadership, supervisory and team-management skills.
- A thorough understanding of housekeeping operations, cleanliness standards and stock control.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining exceptional standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A friendly, professional and attentive approach when interacting with guests and colleagues.
- The ability to investigate concerns, solve problems and follow matters through to completion.
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Flexible availability in line with hotel operational requirements.
