Career Growth Hospitality Recruitment are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Executive Housekeeper for a modern, high-energy hospitality property located in Cape Town’s vibrant city centre. This role is ideal for a passionate hospitality professional who takes pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation across all areas of a busy hotel operation.
The successful candidate will lead the housekeeping department, ensuring exceptional room standards, efficient team management, and seamless coordination with other departments to deliver a consistently outstanding guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
The Executive Housekeeper will be responsible for overseeing the full housekeeping operation within the hotel, including:

Managing the daily operations of the housekeeping department, including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and laundry services.

Leading, training, and motivating the housekeeping team, including supervisors, room attendants, and public area attendants.

Ensuring all guest rooms and public areas are maintained to exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards.

Conducting regular room inspections to ensure consistency and adherence to brand and quality standards.

Developing and implementing cleaning schedules, deep cleaning programs, and maintenance reporting procedures.

Managing departmental staff scheduling, productivity levels, and labour costs.

Monitoring and controlling housekeeping inventory, including linen, amenities, and cleaning supplies.

Coordinating with maintenance and engineering teams to report and follow up on room defects or repairs.

Ensuring efficient room turnaround times to support front office operations and guest arrivals.

Managing linen control, laundry processes, and supplier relationships where applicable.

Maintaining strong health, safety, and hygiene standards throughout all housekeeping operations.

Preparing departmental reports and assisting with budgeting, cost control, and forecasting.

Handling guest requests, special room preparations, and VIP room setups to ensure memorable guest experiences.

Supporting the hotel leadership team in maintaining overall property presentation and service standards.
Requirements

Previous experience as an Executive Housekeeper or Senior Housekeeping Manager within a hotel environment.

Strong leadership experience managing large housekeeping teams.

Excellent knowledge of hotel housekeeping operations, room standards, and cleaning procedures.

Strong organisational and planning skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Experience with housekeeping systems, stock control, and departmental reporting.

Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
