An iconic luxury hotel in Cape Town is seeking an energetic, passionate Demi Chef to join the culinary team in one of its distinguished outlets. If you’re eager to refine your craft in a refined environment, this is your chance.
What You’ll Do

Assist the Sous Chef and Chef de Partie in prepping, cooking and presenting dishes to high standards

Support the daily mise en place for the outlet and ensure kitchens are stocked, organised and clean

Execute dishes according to the menu specifications and maintain consistency in plating and flavour

Verify ingredient freshness, prepare garnishes and ensure stores are maintained correctly

Work across various sections of the kitchen team as required and cover during staff rotations

Clean workstations, maintain hygiene standards and liaise with the housekeeping team

Assist with inventory counts and receive deliveries in alignment with procedures

Participate in team briefings and adhere to health and safety regulations at all times
What You’ll Need

Previous experience as Commis Chef or Demi Chef in a similar upscale environment

Solid knowledge of culinary techniques, food presentation and portion control

Ability to work under pressure, maintain calm and assist with service peaks

Good communication skills, teamwork mindset and willingness to learn
