A dynamic luxury hotel in Cape Town is looking for a talented and dedicated Demi Chef de Partie – Pastry to join its pastry team. This role is perfect for a passionate pastry professional who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen and takes pride in delivering beautifully crafted, high-quality desserts.
What You’ll Do

Assist with preparation of pastry items, desserts and bakery components

Support the Pastry Chef de Partie with section responsibilities and service readiness

Ensure dishes meet quality, consistency and presentation standards

Maintain excellent hygiene, organisation and workstation cleanliness
-
Receive, store and handle ingredients correctly according to safety standards
-
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service
-
Uphold portioning, recipe and plating specifications
-
Perform additional operational tasks as required
What You’ll Need

Culinary, hospitality or patisserie qualification preferred

1 to 2 years’ pastry experience in a 4 or 5 star hotel kitchen

Strong understanding of pastry techniques, ingredients and equipment

Excellent timekeeping, attention to detail and work ethic

Ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy, high-pressure environment

Knowledge of kitchen hygiene and safety procedures
-
Friendly, positive attitude with strong teamwork and communication skills

Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays

Professional presentation and high personal standards
