A fantastic opportunity is available for a passionate and creative Senior Chef de Partie – Pastry to join a luxury hospitality team in Cape Town. We are looking for an experienced pastry professional with a strong eye for detail, exceptional presentation skills, and a passion for producing high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods in a refined kitchen environment.
Key responsibilities include:
• Preparing and creating a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods to exceptional standards
• Assisting with seasonal menu development and creative pastry ideas
• Managing stock control, stock rotation, and minimising wastage
• Ensuring quality control of ingredients and pastry equipment
• Leading and mentoring junior pastry staff within the kitchen brigade
• Maintaining excellent hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards
• Supporting a positive, professional, and team-focused kitchen culture
Requirements:
• Relevant culinary qualification preferred
• Previous experience within a 5-star hotel or luxury hospitality environment
• Strong pastry, baking, and dessert plating experience
• Creative, organised, and highly detail orientated
• Able to work well under pressure within a busy kitchen environment
• Positive attitude with excellent teamwork skills
• Willingness to work hospitality shifts, weekends, and public holidays
