Career Growth Hospitality Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Banqueting Manager to join a leading hospitality and conference destination in Cape Town.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on hospitality professional who is passionate about delivering outstanding guest experiences. You will be responsible for leading the banqueting operation, ensuring conferences, corporate events, weddings, gala dinners, and private functions are delivered seamlessly from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day banqueting operation across a variety of events and functions.
- Lead, coach, and develop the banqueting team to consistently deliver exceptional service.
- Ensure all event venues are prepared and presented to the highest standard.
- Work closely with the Sales, Events, Kitchen, and Operations teams to ensure seamless event execution.
- Oversee event staffing, rosters, productivity, and labour costs.
- Maintain excellent guest relations and professionally resolve any service concerns.
- Monitor departmental stock, equipment, and operating expenses.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and company standards.
- Assist with departmental budgeting, reporting, and continuous service improvement.
- Maintain exceptional service standards while managing multiple events simultaneously.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Banqueting Manager within a hotel, conference centre, or large-scale hospitality environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and communication abilities.
- Proven ability to manage high-volume conferences and events.
- Strong food and beverage operational knowledge.
- Financial awareness with experience managing costs and departmental budgets.
- A hands-on management style with a passion for guest service.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays when required.
